Signs That You Are Emotionally Burnt Out

Nothing is more important than yourself. You will be amazed at the results if you start a transformation process. All you have to do is make the decision to choose a new path in your life.
Signs that you are emotionally burnt out

Psychological burnout is an anxious condition that many people experience without knowing it. A person may become emotionally burnt out and think that it is just because they have an unsatisfactory job or are in a difficult relationship.

While this may be true, it may also be the other way around. Emotional exhaustion can be the cause of their problems.

Being emotionally burnt out means feeling powerless. This happens when you live your life on autopilot without thinking or feeling too much and acting as if everything was imposed on you. You live as if your life does not belong to you and you do not care.

In some cases, a person may enter adulthood, and already be emotionally burnt out. If they grew up in a dysfunctional family, they probably had to invest their energy in trying to understand and manage their environment.

Here are some signs that may indicate that you are suffering from emotional exhaustion.

Constant fatigue

This fatigue is different from ordinary fatigue. You always feel tired, even when you have had enough time to rest. It’s like your body and mind can’t work and all you want is to stay in bed and wake up next month. But even if you did, you would still feel tired.

Emotional fatigue is as strong as, or even worse than, physical fatigue. You may feel that you can no longer be productive.

When you are emotionally burnt out, your problems exceed your resources to deal with them. Thus, a long list of unresolved emotional difficulties results in a heavy burden leading to burnout.

Cynicism: A sign that you are emotionally burnt out

Modern cynicism is when a person feels proud to do something morally wrong. It’s an attitude that can make people say things like ‘Yes, I’m doing something wrong, and so what?

Cynicism manifests itself in the form of self-destructive or ruthless actions. Walking through a dangerous street late at night, driving faster than the speed limit and other high-risk activities are signs of cynicism.

Uninvolved

Being uncommitted basically means not being able to create meaningful relationships with people or your surroundings. This can be described as an invisible distance that keeps you from connecting with the world and with life itself.

Feathers are about to land in hand

When a person is uninvolved, they can feel lonely. However, a burnt out person can ignore these feelings and not attach much importance to them.

They assume they cannot change who they are or what is happening around them. Some hide behind their thoughts about how useless love is.

Feeling of worthlessness

When someone is emotionally burnt out, they also perceive themselves as worthless or unable to do anything.

They do everything in their power to convince themselves that they can achieve nothing, no matter how hard they try. They also tend to degrade their performance and say things like “Why do I set goals if nothing will change?”.

The feeling of worthlessness nurtures the emotional fatigue they feel. In their minds, any task is too hard for them because they do not have the energy to perform them. Thus, it seems too far away and too difficult to do. An emotionally burnt out person tends to be very passive.

Frequent boredom

It’s really hard for a burnt out person to enjoy the little things. Almost everything seems too uninteresting, monotonous or boring. There is no desire to make plans or start new projects. They simply let the circumstances carry them away without a fight. This can turn into anhedonia.

If you think you are emotionally burnt out, you need to know that things can change. You probably need professional help. This is not because you lack resources, but because it is easier for a specialist to help you identify and solve problems that you may not be aware of.

Boredom at work can be due to burnout

If you are in such a state, your priority should be your well-being. Nothing is more important than yourself. You will be amazed at the results if you start a transformation process. All you have to do is make the decision to choose a new path in your life.
