I Am Defiant, Incorrigible And Unbearable For Many

I am defiant, incorrigible and unbearable for many

I am a defiant, incorrigible woman who is unbearable to many people. I am the result of my efforts and also of my suffering because I have always refused to be a victim or a slave. What you see is all I am, without forgery; Someone who loves himself and who above all loves life.

This true, fulfilled vision of itself does not come right at the age of 20 or 30. In fact, today we are talking about the power of women in their 50s. Clearly, every age has its achievements, victories and beauty. But as the fifth decade approaches, many bridges have already been burned and many mindsets have changed. It is also understood that a woman does not have to be “half of someone” to be happy.

On the other hand, the highlight is the “alpha female.” They are influential, they bring value, creativity and noticeable ability to do business and create a more empathetic work environment where she can inspire staff to new achievements.

The “Alpha Woman” was not exactly born in the 21st century. We are heirs of a dynasty. The woman has always been the silent and anonymous warrior in her immediate context. We always have our grandmothers in our memories, for example. Pleasant women who braided sadness in their hair and who gave everything for their children, their home, their family.

Brave women who never complained, and when they looked at the hands worn by age and hard work, they dreamed that their daughters would one day have a chance to shine. They are women who built their future with pride, freely…

The legacy of a defiant goddess

In many cultures it is said that the woman represents the “light of life”. But that light is not in their eyes, but in their ovaries. It is funny how the figure of the woman, in the cultural roots of cultures all over the world, was not only seen as “creative”, but also as a defiant entity.

As Robert Graves explains in his book, “The White Goddess,” it was  very common in both ancient Mediterranean Europe and the Middle East to see matriarchal cultures worshiping a supreme goddess. She was a god associated with the moon, which rose with its own light across the rest of the masculine gods. But all these roots and echoes of remarkable beauty were shattered by the outbreak of patriarchy.

The woman and her anthropological and cultural imprint faded around 400 BC. , a moment when she was obliged to live in these private spaces in silence and submission. The great goddess, a defiant transformer full of mysteries, did not die; she continued to exist secretly in many cultures. She was passed down from generation to generation, from woman to woman, in the magical connection of the feminine heritage.

The moon and the sun

There was the whisper in the dark that the woman was like the moon, the archetype that evolves and grows through different cycles, different changes. Someone with power over nature at the time was feared by the entity that represented masculine power: the sun.

These are challenging times. All the cultural heritage that silenced women continues to be with us. They are testimonies that we now uncover in books like Graves’ “White Goddess” or Clarissa Pinkola Estés´ “The Women Who Ran with the Wolves”. The woman knows she is victorious. She understands that her voice has strength and that she can and must defy herself and the world.

Let’s face it: in the end, that moment always comes. The day when we get tired of saying “yes” when we want to scream “no”. Perhaps this sense of full control comes effectively when we assume our own maturity. When there is no longer fear of the passage of time, loneliness is no longer seen as an enemy, but as a space for growth, expansion and opportunity.

So it is something we all know that the defiant woman is sometimes not accepted. It is like a magnetic pulse that comes from the depths of the earth and shuts out its strength to change reality. Something like this is received with fear because the changes that old ties seek to renew are seen as disturbing.

Yet the woman with a strong character is still viewed with distrust. They call her selfish just because she is stuck in her beliefs and values, or because she finally chooses to put herself before everyone else. Whether we believe it or not, we continue to be the witches who sometimes hated for our gifts, but also envied for our many abilities.

It does not matter that we are so incorrigible, so loyal to our roots. It also does not matter that some people can not cope with us. We are who we are. Women who are proud of our heritage. Heirs of a defiant goddess who seeks to create our own paths in dignity and happiness.
